I've discovered it's not the guns, it's me. I've dumped too many good guns over the decades because I didn't like the trigger. I'm expanding my horizons and trying to get better with a broader range of platforms and triggers. An old Walther P38 or Makarov will improve your Sig transition, etc. I've discovered if I can develop good trigger control with long, heavy, stagey triggers it helps me even more when I then move to my carry guns. Any tool that does it's job I'm happy to have around.Īctually, I'm starting to like some of the guns for occasional training purposes that require me to practice trigger control through less than pristine triggers. I have some guns I admire and care for like they're made of fine crystal (very few, mostly sentimental value guns). If a gun goes bang each time I pull the trigger and I can hit center mass with it, well.I guess it's quality enough to get the job done. Put a dot of white paint on the front ramp to zero it in at 7 yards, and even the wife can shoot it accurately.Ĭlick to expand. Accurate enough for bunnies and concealable enough for self-defense. Sure I prefer a Ruger or S&W, but for $250 new, I couldn't really ask for anything more out of this gun. I've been quite happy with this gun for the price. *Have concerns about its reliability 10-20 years down the road Or after a couple thousand rounds have been shot. *It seems neither Rossi (Taurus) or the internet 'gurus' can give me a definite answer as to whether this gun can use +P. *Not the best finish and the bluing leaves a bit to be desired. *Not sure if this is necessarily good BUT, the gun never felt as though it needed to be broken in. (not a lot of rounds but on cheap guns sometimes that's all it takes) *After a couple hundred rounds, it is showing zero signs of wear. *Grip doesn't become slippery when shooting with sweaty hands. *Decent steel used on the frame and cylinder All I seem to see anymore are 2" and 4" models. As a side note, I am not sure if the 3" barrel is still available.

It was purchased for $250 out the door brand new.Īs most of you probably know, Rossi (and Heritage Arms) are owned by Taurus so this model has the Taurus safety which requires the use of a supplied key to lock up the hammer. This is the blued model with the 3" barrel chambered in 38 special with Fixed Sights.
